  • Practitioner of Oriental Medicine, Acupuncturist & Herbalist

Diem is a licensed acupuncturist & practitioner of Oriental Medicine with 17 years of experience. She holds a BS from Penn State and a Master Degree in Oriental Medicine from the Academy of Oriental Medicine at Austin (AOMA). Her training at AOMA provides a strong foundation and a strong emphasis on the synthesis and integration of the five branches of Chinese Medicine. The five branches are: Acupuncture, Oriental Herbal Medicine, Nutrition, Body Work (Shiatsu and Tuina) and Energetic Medicine (Meditation, Tai Chi and Qi Gong). Diem Nguyen was inspired to the study of Chinese medicine by her mother’s struggle with life-threatening illness. The birth of Diem’s older sister left Diem’s mother completely paralyzed on one side of her body. After three months of failed hospital treatment, Western doctors gave up, saying her condition was untreatable. However, one year of Chinese herbal medicine cured Diem’s mother, and Diem decided as a child that she wanted to be an herbalist like the master who had saved her mother’s life.
